Today, star-trek-voyager.net would like to introduce to you GoToWebinar Review: Still the Best Webinar Software in 2020? . Following along are instructions in the video below:
“You want to do live. Webinars nto build your audience online to engage nan online online audience. And as a powerful marketing and selling tool ngotowebinar has been around for it is perhaps the og. The original player in the nwebinar space years ago.
It seemed like nbasically any webinar you ncould find was hosted on gotowebinar and ni myself have been a user of ngotowebinar for a long time and have done easily over 100 gotowebinar events. But the question is in 2019. Nand beyond is it still relevant nespecially now that so many other players are in the nmarket. That s what i m here to find.
Nout. Hello i m shane melaugh from nactivegrowthcom. And like i mentioned i ve been na gotowebinar user for a long time. And i have personally experienced.
The powerful tool nthat is webinars. It really is an amazing nmarketing and sales tool. And there is one particular reason. Why i ve nbeen a gotowebinar user for so long and i ll get back nto that in a moment.
But right now i m on a mission nto find out if gotowebinar really is still relevant and nif. It is the best platform to use or if one of nthe. Many competitors has overtaken it nin terms of features pricing value nand. So on over the next few weeks.
Ni ll be testing every webinar platform and software ni can get my hands on. I ll be reviewing them. And i ll ndo a big round up comparison in the end and i nwant to start with gotowebinar because nlike. I said.
It s been around forever and nlet s get right into why it s been naround for so long. And what s good about it..
The number one thing that i nthink made go to webinar as successful as nit is is just reliability and nstability you see the last time i looked nfor alternatives to go to webinar many years ago. I tried a few alternatives and nbasically all of them had huge nissues they would crash they would njust freeze in the middle of nstuff. They would just stop working or nthey. Did have like a two minute lag or something or njust.
The video or audio quality be so bad that you know your chat or your nquestions in the webinar were just full of people nsaying. I was just the only platform nwhere you could reliably do a webinar to 500 people. N. 700.
People 1000. People. Even and nyou know. While it would slow ndown.
A bit. There d be lag and nso on it would keep going it would keep working and of course. If you re using nwebinars as a marketing tool. Nif.
You re doing a sales webinar that is just npriceless you. Just cannot afford to be ndoing a. Sales webinar to hundreds of npeople and then the thing just stops nworking that isn t to say gotowebinar nhas. A perfect track record.
I ve had occasional issues with nit as well but again out of you know nhundreds of webinars done. It has basically almost nnever let me down. Whereas there are several nother platforms. That i ve ntried a single time and they just nimmediately failed.
N. Gotowebinar also still covers all the nbasics that you d want from a webinar nwhich means that it s not just for presenting you can also do polls ninteractive polls..
Where people can click on answers and then nyou can show the results which nis. I think a great way to engage nthe audience and also to collect some insights about nyour audience you can have surveys and nhandouts and people can ask questions and nso on so there s various ways to interact and the thing. I nlike about go to webinar is that you can use it for kind nof group coaching. So you can unmute people and have them actually ask a nquestion you know rather than njust typing.
And that s something that i nthink can add a lot of value nto. Something like group coaching or even njust. A regular webinar. Where nyou re adding kind of more real ndeeper interaction.
With your audience. So it has all of these basics. Nit has basically everything that you nwould expect from a webinar platform go to webinar also is npretty solid reporting and analytics tools nso it gives you good reports about like nthe attention and retention rates of your naudience. It gives your report of all the questions that were nasked and so on and i ve found that often very nuseful even after the webinar and njust go through that data and learn a bit more about my naudience now having said that there s nalso.
Quite a lot that i ndislike about gotowebinar. So for example it does feel a nlittle ancient at times. Now they ve made various nattempts at modernizing it and especially recently they nreally have modernized the ui. But it still feels lagging nin.
Some regards so for one thing you can do a nweb event. A webcast or a regular nwebinar. The webcast is basically more nconvenient for your visitors. They don t need to ndownload anything they can njust visit the webinar on the nbrowser.
The regular webinar where people do have to ndownload a thing and run an installer and so on nbefore they can access your webinar that does have nsome advantages. Though so for example. The thing. I nmentioned before about being nable to unmoved someone in your audience and nhave.
A conversation with them this is only possible using the nregular webinar and not the webcast nwebinar also the user interface while you re hosting webinar well it takes a bit of getting used nto. It s not the prettiest user ninterface you know..
It s nfunctional. The questions. Feature and chat nfeatures are just not very great so ntypically in gotowebinar. I will end up with a huge list nof questions from people and it s very difficult to nnavigate.
It s difficult to kind of pick out what nshould. I answer. And it s you can t like you ncan t even copy and paste to questions who can t like npaste. The important ones into a notepad or you can t ndisplay.
The questions on nscreen. Really the way. The questions nand answer thing. Works is just not very user friendly.
Another thing is that it s nmainly made for audio and screen sharing you can share your webcam as nwell. But it s a bit awkward basically so in the live event. People will see the screen and nyour webcam at the same time if that s nwhat you re sharing. But in the replay.
The webcam nwill just not show up and even if you record nseparately. So if you don t use the built nin recording feature. It s quite difficult to make that nwork with your webcam and screen sharing. Basically.
I nhaven t found a satisfying way to do that nand to make that work speaking of recordings and nreplays. There is an automatic recording nfeature. But after the webinar nevent you have to convert the nrecording file from one format into another nbefore. It s usable and the quality is not that ngreat.
It has gotten better the audio tends to be a bit ntinny. And there s a delay and stuff so it s generally better if you nrecord your screen locally you record your nscreen and audio..
While you re doing the presentation non the webinar than how to nclean a recording. But then if you have guest nhosts and things that makes nthings more complicated so again it s just it s not nterrible. But it s just not very convenient so that s what i mean when i nsay that yes. It has been nmodernized.
But you can kind of feel the nlegacy of this thing. It feels like kind of an nold piece of software in many nways and finally and this is one of nthe main reasons. I ve started looking at alternatives the npricing of gotowebinar is pretty steep like you have to get you have to pay 200 dollars or more to get what i would nconsider. All the basic nfeatures.
There s higher price tiers nwhich have additional features that i think most npeople won t need. But you have to pay something nlike 200 dollars a month before you get really you nknow. All the stuff you ll nprobably want to use for doing nwebinars that s a pretty steep price ntag and that puts me in a position nwhere. I feel like i can t nreally recommend this to the typical startup.
Nentrepreneur or you know trying to keep your nbudget under control. You re nnot going to just spend another 200 dollars. A nmonth to do a couple of webinars and this has me nsearching for better alternatives in this video. I m not going to ngo into greater detail about nall.
The specific features in ngotowebinar like i said it has its pros and ncons and i think that the cons clearly outweigh the pros nespecially considering the price tag and nthat s why i can t really recommend ngotowebinar. But i do want to be able to nrecommend something so that even if you are on a smaller nbudget you can make use of the naudience building and marketing power of live nwebinars and so over the last weeks. And nstill as i m recording this i ve nbeen doing a lot of webinars on many different platforms nand. I ll be releasing reviews of each of these platforms as ni get them done so stay tuned for more reviews of basically every ngotowebinarcompetitor that i ncan find and if there s any one that you nlike in particular or that you re curious about nthat.
You think i should review leave a comment below and let nme. Know what it is also if you have specific nquestions about webinar nsoftware or if there are specific nfeatures and things that you think i should look out for in nmy reviews. Just leave your questions and ncomments below nall right. I look forward to hearing from nyou and more webinar software.
