Which Car is the BEST Car in Rocket League. Today’s video is answering the age-old question, which car is the best car in rocket league. Some say the octane, some say the dominus, and recently some have said then fennec. Well, today I have done a little bit of research and my own personal testing out to find which of these cars is the best in rocket league. While personal preference plays a big part in understanding which car is the best car in rocket league, it is also important to know which car is the overall best, and which is the best car in rocket league for you.
I prefer the octane or the fennec, but many freestylers prefer the dominus. At the end of the day, you need to dedicate time into the game to understand which car better suits your playstyle and which car is the best car in rocket league for you.

Are many questions in this game. Do i go for a boost or the ball ball do i spam water save or grow up. But perhaps.
The most important question car should i use today. We’re going to do some in depth research and find out which car is the best in rocket league now. I’m gonna do us all a favor and we’re gonna limit the car.
So we aren’t trying to work through 80 something different cars that no one uses today. We’re going to be looking at the three main cars. The octane the dominus and the fanuc.
I was going to include some others in this video. But it would get too long so you break out merc and batmobile users please remain calm because in all honesty. I don’t really care.
There are three main cars used and we’re going to go through a few of the different aspects of the cars to determine. Which is the best in the game. All the footage in this video was taken from my streams.
If you do want to catch me. There. There’s a link to that in the description.
Now before we jump into the video just want to say a big thank you to today’s sponsor. The ridge wallet. Now i understand you never thought you’d actually ask for a wallet for christmas.
But i guarantee you’ll be wanting this one under your tree. I switched from a standard everyday wallet when i received it just to test it out and i genuinely haven’t looked back since everyone’s got that old beaten up wallet. They’ve had forever.
But doesn’t ever think to get themselves a new one which makes this the perfect gift. Plus. It’s something you’re going to use every day.
The ridge wallet is simple compact and sturdy. Forty thousand five star reviews and it’s a product that’s gonna be used more than anything else you can’t really go wrong with something that’s built so right. The first thing. I want to cover today are the hitboxes because while there may be three cars here there are only two hitboxes the fenug and the octane while having different looking models have the same hitbox. Which is known as the octane hitbox while the dominus has what is known as the dominus hook box pretty simple so far.
The octane hitbox is a little taller than the dominus hitbox and for that reason has an easier time being able to make contact with the ball. If it is slightly off the ground or the wall in cases where the dominus hitbox might drive straight underneath. It or you’d have to jump just to make contact on the other side of that the dominus hitbox is much longer.
Which gives you more reach as you make your way around the field. And with the long flat top of the car it can give you some insane power on your flicks now something to keep in mind is that while every single car in the game falls under a certain preset hitbox. You must also understand that inside those presets.
They all have the same stats. This was something i wasn’t actually aware of until doing the research for this video. But both the fanuc and the octane have the exact same turning radius the same height and width in everything just like all cars that share the dominus hitbox share the same stats as the dominus.
But this brings the question how can all of these cars in the preset share the same stats. If they look different. Now.
There is an answer to this and it’s where i think people started getting hooked on the idea that these three cars were better over any others. While all the cars within the preset shared the same stats. Some cars visual models will be more of an accurate representation of the hitbox preset than other cars.
If you see here this is the octane hitbox and the octane car and this is another car that shares the octane hitbox. The scarab as you can see even though. They both share.
The same hitbox. The octane has a more accurate representation of the preset hitbox and for that reason. It feels easy to use as your touches.
Feel as if they are connecting better with the car now even though. The octane is the name of the hitbox. Many people feel that the fennec better fits the hitbox model and for that reason feels better to use and feels like your touches are more accurate with the dominus.
The pros of the hitbox are that the pedal like shape helps to hit clean and hard strikes and its hard corners make it consistent in its use and the cons are it will lose out to the octane in a 50 50 due to the lower height and the front of the hitbox doesn’t accurately match the car model. The octane hitbox pros are that the accurate hitbox representation. Allows players to make more consistent touches on the ball.
And it holds the ball higher from the ground. When dribbling. Which makes it easy to turn without the ball dropping the cons are that it has a lesser turning radius compared to the dominance and that the octane’s hitbox is shorter in length than most others.
Which will mean you’ll lose out to touch the ball against flat cars like the dominus moving on we’re going to touch on ground play. Which is things like dribbling flicking. A movement around the field now.
The first thing i want to say is that for the life of me. I have always had difficulty trying to wave dash with the dominus this might be to do with the fact that i’m so used to playing in the octane that i missed timing the movement due to the car being quite a bit longer. But don’t let that put you off it’s something you can definitely get used to if you’re picking up or mainly the dominus.
The car has an incredibly easy time flicking the ball as you can get height and power on just about any flick due to the size. It also has a very easy time being able to control and be precise with your flicks as the car isn’t completely flat making your way around the field. I would say that i personally don’t feel too much of a difference in the turning radius.
Even though from what i’ve read it turned a tiny bit faster than the octane hitbox. Seeing as you see the ground game. Mostly in 1v1 matches.
I did a bit of research to see which cars the 1v1 pros were using and i’m fairly sure the majority of them are using the octane hitbox with the whole fennec vs. Octane thing. It’s pretty hard to tell the difference once you know that the cars are literally the same if you’re used to one the other might seem a little off due to its car model.
But it’s definitely something you can get through that being said. I’ve always found my flicks to be much easier with the octane than they are with the fennec. I feel like when flicking the ball the oxygen has a much easier car model to look at when judging when to execute the flip.
Whereas. When i’m in the fennec. I find that i’ll line up a flick perfectly and be watching for it to hit that sweet spot on the car.
Where i can flick into it and i will and then the flick won’t go through or it’s gonna be really weak when it comes to the octane versus dominus argument. I think it’s much easier to dribble the ball with the octane as its height gives you more wiggle room to stop it from falling off so easily. But i think flicks are much easier in the dominance due to the power and accuracy you can get from the flattest surface with bounce dribbles.
I’m going to have to give it to the phoenix simply due to the fact that the dominus doesn’t have enough height to consistently connect with the ball. Quite like the octane and the fanuc does but due to the phenix car model filling the hitbox out more accurately especially in the front corners. You’re gonna have a much easier time getting the power from the bounce dribble with the fennec moving on to the aerial play in the air.
The dominus is known as king the spin to win machine is the go to for many freestylers for a few reasons. It’s longer than the octane hitbox. It looks better in the air and its hard corners make redirects easier to land as it gives you a very accurate edge to hit the ball with the big plank like surface.
Gives you more to hit the ball with and for the same reason is more forgiving. If you end up messing up slightly as there’s still a chance the length of the car is going to make contact with the ball now while saying all of this i still find myself playing better in the air with the octane or the fennec flip resets. I found to be easier with the octane as the wheels are closer together.
And so you can get a better judgment of the connection with the ball the fenik and the dominus feel as if the wheels are the same distance apart despite having different hitboxes and while i feel better with the octane. I think. It’s fair to say the majority of people freestylers especially prefer the dominus as the flatter car makes it very easy for people to line up for the flip reset.
I just personally have trouble doing this myself the same thing goes for things like air dribbles and double touches. I might not be the best of them with the dominus. But the community seems to agree that the dominus is the best for the majority of aerial based gameplay lastly.
It’s really about personal preference. The feeling of a car in game is extremely important most people enjoy a car like the octane because it’s probably one of the most balanced cars. But if you have more of an aerial based style of play then i would suggest picking up the dominus.
While it might not be my personal preference and believe me i hate this car. I i really hate this car. It’s definitely good in the right hands.
I often switch between the octane and the fennec and while they’re exactly the same stat wise. Many agree that the fennec does not feel like the octane in game. The octane feels quite light and the fennec feels bulkier almost as if there’s more power behind each hit it’s a great option for any player that enjoys the octane.
If things aren’t quite feeling right in the octane try switching over for a game. And seeing how things go anyway. That’s going to bring us to the end of today’s video.
